The Motor Transport Section is a self-contained set of buildings with great potential
for redevelopment and reuse.
The complex comprises five buildings constructed in a
U-shape around the concrete surface yard with a refuelling area that has an
underground fuel storage tank and fuel pumps with a concrete surface area in front
and with a canopy supported in steel and with a profiled metal sheet roof.
Four of the
main buildings in the complex are used as garages or workshops and each has
good access into the yard by way of metal clad and electrically operated up and
over doors. All the buildings have gas fired warm air heating and an adjacent office
and storage building completes the section.
